Important notes:

  • Please note: our Rec League games are played on indoor ice surfaces and arenas. However, as a recreational league, we fall under Pond Hockey and Outdoor Hockey with Hockey Canada's Spordle registration system.

  • Important note: If your child has played organized hockey before in the city of Edmonton, please reach out to Hockey Edmonton at office@hockeyedmonton.ca with their name and birthdate. Hockey Edmonton will assist with the transfer process, ensuring a seamless registration for your child. Once the transfer is completed, the player can register in Spordle using the registration link above.

  • Before registering, we encourage all parents and players to review the Player Waiver, Financial Assistance Options, EFHL Rec League Rules, and FAQs.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to office@hockeyedmonton.ca. We're here to help!

Do you want to coach or be a team manager with Rec Hockey?

Being a coach is an easy and FUN gig! Rec league coaches need to have RESPECT IN SPORT - ACTIVITY LEADER and Hockey Edmonton will reimburse you for the cost of RIS - AL upon completion and submission of certificate. As a HC, you are responsible for the team and the equipment. But unlike community or elite hockey, there are no practices to plan, no tournaments or playoffs to prepare for, just ensuring the team has fun! Rec teams need a Head Coach and up to 4 assistant coaches. Coaches will need to pay the refs, but again, we will reimburse you monthly for the ref fees!

Team Managers will be responsible for game sheets and game sheet management.
